About Trending
Written by Sports Aggregator Staff
The Trending list is determined by a pretty straightforward ratio of recency and views. Author, source, player and all other rankings are largely determined by views.
Over the years, we experimented with all sorts of factors that could contribute to whether or not an item is good/interesting. We've monitored social media shares and clicks, destination user experiences, and Google Search traffic to our sites (to name a few). Ultimately, a simple tally of views was far and away the strongest indicator of interest/usefulness.
Trending is a significant factor in determining which items we share on our social profiles.
